Hey TV addicts,
I’m back to give you a slice of what happened last week on TV. Before we start, just letting you know that my opinions are my own, not the TV gods. If you have any feedback on what happened this week, let a girl know.
SPOILER ALERT: Click HERE for the list of shows I watch before you spoil your TV appetite.
Hero of the Week: Cookie Lyons (Empire)
Cookie made sure the gangsters knew who they were dealing with! Hiring the gang which kidnapped her son wasn’t easy and she wasn’t about to let Hakeem ruin everything, plus himself. When she pleaded with Hakeem, I saw a mother’s love and willingness to do whatever it took to survive through the hardships. Shoutout to Taraji P. Henson for those acting skills.
Villains of the Week: The Killer Kids (American Horror Story)
The scene with the psychotic kids ruthlessly killing all their teachers topped this year’s Halloween. Seriously, Jason X himself couldn’t freak me out as that scene. The unapologetic, blase way that they killed them was frightening. Couldn’t they at least hide their hunger like Alex Lowe? This AHS episode confirms why I have never been here for vampire children.
Underdog of the Week: Iris (American Horror Story)
Iris wasn’t having a very good day in this episode. She hadn’t fed since being turned into a vampire and she looked like a drug addict going cold turkey. She was also letting two idiot hotel guests lord over her. But Liz Taylor taught her to open up and be her own person, which is all the motivation she needed to kill the guests. Probably not what Liz had in mind but hey, at least Iris now believes no one can control her.
Creep of the Week: Ed Nygma (Gotham)
Ed Nygma’s mental state worsened this week. I mean, when you’re playing games with yourself, its high time you get committed. Sad, really. All the poor boy ever wanted was for Ms. Kringle to like him. But Eddie, destiny was just leading you to become The Riddler. By the end of the episode, Ed Nygma’s humanity dissipates. I’ll miss it. I liked Eddie the good guy.
Village Idiot: Bonnie Winterbottom (How to Get Away With Murder)
Bonnie has some serious daddy issues. We all knew she liked Sam but after seeing a clip of her past, we now know that her attraction to him was a little unhealthy. It has to be since her hate for Annalise, a woman who has been in her corner, is idiotic and eye-rolling. And I thought her murdering Rebecca was bad–hey, Frank ain’t a saint either.
Badass of the Week: Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin (Gotham)
Don’t ever get between a man and his mama. Penguin was willing to destroy all of Gotham just to make sure Theo Galavan stopped breathing. Like Jim says, Penguin never goes on the attack for no reason. The man is a strategist, not a terrorist. And no matter how much of a villain he is, you can’t blame Penguin for his thirst for revenge. He admirably pulled out all the stops when he ruined Theo Galavan’s victory party. Watch out, Theo. Don’t underestimate a man with an army at his feet.
Until next time, addicts.
